Tribesman Jason Napolitano has been living in his van while on break from driving boats on Tavarua. Says it keeps the overhead low. One more month and Napolitano will be back to living in the barrel at Cloudbreak.
Collectors Item
Our friend Kellen passed us this photo the other week. He asked if we knew about this metal tree in Venice Beach. Yep, that tree is at five years old, maybe more. Looks like a couple people have tried their luck on prying it off with no success.
WELCOME CHRIS SANDERS
Couple recent shots of Chris Sanders getting loose at The Lane. Chris Sanders is the newest addition to the HippyTree Tribe. Hailing from Santa Cruz, Sanders will be spreading the word about the Tree throughout the lineups in Northern California.

The folks over at Adventure 16 in Los Angeles did an amazing job merchandising the new HippyTree duds. If you haven’t been to an A16 before you need to check one out. They are stocking lots of HippyTree at their Solana Beach and Los Angeles locations.

Our Brazilian Distributor, Alex Grunbauer, has been working his tail off in Brazil lately. He’s been nailing down all the premier surf and outdoor shops throughout the country. Next time you’re in Brazil keep your eyes peeled for the Green Tree.
Handplane Junkies
You would’ve thought by now there would be tons of handplaners crowding up the lineups considering all the hip indie surf shops are selling them. But that’s the cool thing about handplanes… only the real barrel junkies got ‘em. Tribesman Sam MacLennan showing us how it’s done somewhere in LA County.

Tribesman Matt Lloyd, aka Eagle Arms, recently returned from a climbing trip to Thailand. He sent over a couple shots from one of his deep water soloing excursions. Stay tuned for more pictures from Eagle Arms in Thailand in the near future.
